Description: Cardio Thoracic & Vascular Surgeon needed for a private group practice in a Tort Reform State!
Rapides Regional Medical Center is actively seeking a BC/BE Cardio Thoracic & Vascular Surgeon to join a very successful group practice with two others. This progressive, cutting edge practice has the 2nd largest volume in the State of Louisiana! Call will be shared equally, 1:3. All applicants must be trained or experienced in doing endovascular stents and valve surgery. The practice admits to two facilities in the community with offices located approximately 15 minutes from each. They have a Vascular Diagnostic Lab and Vein Clinic on site. In addition to a competitive income package, they are offering partnership opportunity as well. The patient base is approximately 450,000, and growing, making this an exceptionally stable, lucrative and long term opportunity. Our 312-bed facility includes The Rapides Heart Center, strategically located with access readily available to emergency helicopter, ambulance transport, emergency department, surgery, intensive care and telemetry units.

We practice a comprehensive approach to treating heart disease through diagnostic testing, cardiac catherization, heart surgery and cardiac rehabilitation. The economic forecast of the hospital is great with a new 50 million dollar expansion which was completed this year. Louisiana is a Tort Reform State (capped malpractice claims), which makes this a very physician friendly practice opportunity. The $50 million dollar expansion to the hospital included a four-story tower, a new emergency department with 25 beds, a 26-bed Intensive Care Unit and two additional floors providing 72 patient beds. The expansion consists of 125,000 square feet of new construction and approximately 4,500 square feet of renovation to the existing lobby area of the hospital.
