Crossgates River Oaks Hospital (formerly Rankin Medical Center) is a 134-bed acute care facility known for its commitment of providing family oriented and quality patient care to residents of Rankin County and surrounding areas since 1969. Our parent company is Health Management Associates in Naples, Florida. We are fully accredited by The Joint Commission and the State of Mississippi. Our specialties include Cardiology, Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, Gastroenterology, Otolaryngology, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Pediatrics, Radiology, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Oral Surgery, Urology, and Vascular Surgery. Our medical staff consists of 155 active physicians and 72 additional physicians on courtesy staff.

We have three full-time Internal Medicine and Pediatric Hospitalists who care for inpatients referred by physicians in an array of specialties. The surgical suite of the hospital includes four Operating Rooms, 12 same day surgery rooms, two Endoscopy rooms, one minor treatment room, and seven -bed ICU.

For the second year in a row, CROH was named one of the Best Places to Work in Mississippi through an employee survey and was honored by The Mississippi Business Journal. In a physician satisfaction survey, CROH ranked number one not only within Health Management Associates group of hospitals, but also number one in all of the clients the survey company conducted surveys. The hospital has also been honored for its commitment to serving their patients with quality care. The Commonwealth Fund, a private foundation that promotes high performance health systems, supported an independent research study conducted by the Economic and Social Research Institutes, which identified CROH as one of the "Top 100 Most Improved Hospitals in the Nation." In addition, the hospital was selected as one of only four hospitals to be featured in a case study. The other hospitals chosen are Beth Israel Medical Center in New York; Legacy Health Systems in Portland, OR and St. Mary's Health System in Athens, GA.

CROH is located in Rankin County in Brandon, Mississippi, east of Jackson, the state capital. Rankin is one of the three counties that comprise the majority of the Metro Jackson population of over 750,000 and enjoy some of the highest per capital income and population growth rates in the nation. Low taxes, excellent schools, and reasonable real estate prices/selection make Rankin a wise choice.

The presence of the 33,000-acre Ross Barnett Reservoir, numerous parks, other area lakes, and sporting and cultural venues insure access to a multitude of recreational opportunities.

Additionally, many national companies have a presence in the Central Mississippi area inclusive of General Motors, Raytheon, Exide Corporation, and a new one billion dollar Nissan manufacturing facility that opened in May of 2003.
