Description: Gynecology Oncology Opportunities in NW Washington
Come join a wonderful, collegial group of OB/GYN physicians in Everett, Washington, just 25 miles north of Seattle. Snohomish County does not currently have a local gyn-oncologist. All patients travel to Seattle for their care. The tumor registry indicates approximately 300 cases annually would be cared for in partnership with other specialists by a GYN/ONC surgeon. There are 21 OB/GYNs in the county who would support the specialist. The position would be employed as part of Providence Physician Group and located in the brand new cancer center at Providence Everett Medical Center. Will be integrated with the medical and radiation oncologists practicing in the center with an integrated EMR and billing system as well as regular tumor boards. Surgical back up would be provided by gyn surgery specialists and general surgery hospitalists (24/7 service starting in 2008). On a DRG basis we have 10% of the market share for the DRGs of gyn-oncologists in Seattle, i.e. there are many admissions that may not be cancer tumor cases but cared for by the expertise of the physician.
