Directly responsible for both identifying and providing key information to CFO and other senior leaders as directed regarding all aspects of the company's financial performance. Through detailed analysis and investigation, the Sr. Accountant will have a comprehensive understanding of accounting transactions and variances and communicate such to the CFO. Work with various team leaders to ensure corrective action for identified variances will be frequent. Direct oversight of the medical delivery annual budgeting process through collaborative efforts with various accounting leaders. Lead role in the external audit/review and the preparation of corporate tax return. Consultative role in revenue cycle and self-funding initiatives. Assist in provider contracting and understanding of financial impact of contracting decisions. Ad hoc financial and analytical requests will be common. Minimum Education Requirement: • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance Minimum Experience Requirements: • Six (6) to eight (8) years of experience in the healthcare industry. • Some experience in finance management and strategic planning in a multi-faceted health care system and multi-service provide setting. • Two (2) to three (3) years of direct supervisory experience. Preferred Education and Experience • Strong analytical skills with proficient knowledge of Excel and or Access. • Strong knowledge of corporate tax is highly desirable. • Prior experience with HMO's, hospitals, and/or large physician practices considered a plus. • Advanced certification such as CPA or CFA is highly desired. • Big six accounting or consulting is highly desirable. • A Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is preferred.
