The new Abbotsford Regional
Hospital and Cancer Centre (ARHCC), in conjunction
with the Fraser Health Authority Renal Program is seeking
an additional Nephrologist to join our rapidly growing
program. The position will be based in Abbotsford but
may also involve clinical duties in other areas of
the region. The successful applicant will be expected
to establish an outpatient practice in Abbotsford.
They will also have the opportunity to be involved
in developing comprehensive renal services at the new
ARHCC, including a new hemodialysis and peritoneal
dialysis unit and Chronic Kidney Disease Clinic which
is set to open in August 2008.
Abbotsford is
a fast growing community with a population of over
140,000. Its growth is one of the compelling reasons
for the new 300-bed hospital scheduled to open in 2008,
a new state-of-the-art facility which will provide
residents with improved acute care services and increased
access to cancer care. Situated just a 1-hour drive
from the amenities of Vancouver, the scenic community
of Abbotsford offers affordable housing and world class
recreational opportunities.
Successful candidates
with have an FRCP in Internal Medicine and Nephrology
from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of
Canada and be eligible for licensure with the College
of Physicians and Surgeons of BC. Added expertise and
an interest in peritoneal dialysis are desirable.
