Description: Acts as Department Director in her/his absence.

Minimum Skills/Requirements:
BSN or BS/BA with MSN preferred; completion of BSN or MSN within 5 years.
State of New Mexico Nursing License required. Three to five years experience in related area.

Primary Job Functions:
• Acts as a clinical resource for the department.
• Functions as a Registered Nurse in direct patient care as necessary.
• Assists on all department director primary functions.
• Assists in financial operations of the department.
• Assists in departmental personnel activities.
• Coordinates department staff development.
• Maintains current knowledge of information in related field through seminars, workshops and publications.
• Participates in the implementation of change projects/initiatives.
• Supports and participates in unit based and system wide shared governance councils.
• Performs other functions as required.
