echocardiographer performs noninvasive testing to identify
abnormalities of the heart. 2D Mode and Color Doppler
are used. The employee works in conjunction with the
cardiologist and alerts him/her when abnormalities
are present. The technician is responsible for stress
testing and assisting with transesophageal testing.
Education:
Must have completed an accredited program of echocardiography
or ultrasonography. Associates degree of Science in
Cardiovascular Technology, Exercise physiology preferred.
