Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner Opportunity
in Virginia
Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, located in Roanoke, Virginia is seeking a nurse practitioner for a new hospital-based palliative medicine consultation service. This role provides consultative palliative care services for individualized symptom management and quality of life issues for seriously ill patients and their families.
• Consults for symptom
control, pain management, and end of life issues.
• Serves as a resource
for Medical and Nursing Staff on palliative care
issues.
• Develops interdisciplinary
strategies for providing Palliative Care Services.
• Promotes staff proficiency
in end of life care.
• Actively participates
in discharge planning and continuity of care efforts.
• Provides patient and
family education.
• Provides evidence-based
physical, emotional, psychosocial, and spiritual
care to individuals and families experiencing life-limiting
progressive illness.
• Serves as a mentor
and educator for residents, nursing and medical
students.
• Current and unrestricted
license to practice as a
• Nurse Practitioner
in the state of Virginia.
• Unrestricted DEA certification
• Certification in area
of specialized nursing( Palliative Care, Pain Management)
preferred.
• CPR and BLS required;
ACLS preferred.
