Job Details: Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)

Description: The Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) performs intake assessments and psychosocial assessments and resource referral services.
They may develop treatment plans, and provide psychotherapy per department needs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Qualifications:
A Masters degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work is required.

Experience:
Experience as a social worker in the health care/mental health field is desired. A new graduate would be considered.

Licensure/Certificates:
Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) by the New York State Department of Education is required.

Skills:
The ability to provide therapeutic interventions, based upon a comprehensive psychosocial assessment and diagnostic formulation.
Interviewing and assessment skills to determine needs, treatment plans and discharge plans per department needs.
Effective communication skills in person and by telephone.
Crisis intervention skills to assist with urgent psychosocial needs.
Provide referrals to community based agencies and treatment facilities.
Ability to work with diverse groups and individuals.
Ability to provide services and care to patients across the lifespan.

Physical Requirements:
Per department needs, the position may require the ability to travel within the hospital and clinic complex and in the community.
