Description:
Exciting opportunity to join Cape Fear Valley
Health System as Chief Medical Officer.
Korn/Ferry International is pleased to announce the start of a new search for a physician executive to serve as Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for Cape Fear Valley Health System (CFVHS.) I would appreciate an opportunity to speak with you regarding this search for a talented physician executive to join a new senior management team being formed to lead a large and growing health system serving southeastern North Carolina. CFVHS is a private, not-for-profit health system with four hospitals totaling 619 beds, a dedicated Cancer Center, 12 primary physician practices, Home Health and Hospice, a freestanding outpatient center and three urgent care centers. The health system is Cumberland County's largest employer with more than 4,700 employees and approximately 450 physicians on its medical staff providing a full range of services. Cape Fear Valley Medical Center (CFVMC), the flagship of the health system, is a 426-bed medical center located in the growing metropolitan city of Fayetteville, North Carolina (population 100,000) in Cumberland County (population 300,000). Cape Fear Valley Medical Center specializes in heart care, cancer treatment and surgical services. Other specialized services include a full-service Family Birth Center, as well as a Level-III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). In 2007, CFVHS partnered with The Cleveland Clinic to bring world-class heart services to the region, and CFVMC became the fourth hospital in the nation to establish a program with The Cleveland Clinic in which Cleveland Clinic surgeons are the sole providers of cardiac surgical services. The CMO will have direct management responsibility for clinical quality monitoring, improvement and reporting for the health system. Working with the elected leadership of the medical staff, he/she will ensure that the medical staff and the hospitals' administrative staff are aligned in achieving the health system's goals for medical quality and safety. In addition, the CMO will work to identify and address operational issues, notably those related to the clinically effective and cost-effective provision of health services to patients. Together with other members of the health system's senior management team, he/she will work to plan and achieve business development and strategic growth objectives for the organization. The CMO will also be responsible for the implementation of institutional policies and procedures, and compliance with regulatory standards. If you are a physician executive with demonstrated expertise in a hospital or health care organization that has succeeded in making physicians partners in the delivery of care, and you have successfully designed, developed and implemented programs and services that have added value and volume, CFVHS is interested in learning more about your accomplishments.
