Summary of Responsibilities: Responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of markets. Carries responsibility for integrating the strategic plan of the organization with the operations. Improves stakeholder experience by developing high quality, cost effective and integrated clinical programs and administrative process at the facility level in collaboration with the Market General Managers. This position is responsible for the preparation and analysis of group-level operational reporting and presentations. The management portfolio held by this leader is notably diverse, with corresponding broad organizational implications and complexity, characterized by substantial scope of responsibility requiring maturity and the ability to function comfortably in a matrix organization. In the absence of the President this individual may be asked to fulfill the day-to-day duties of the President and communicate with internal and external stakeholders on his/her behalf. This VP will work closely with the Development team to bring into operation projects in new markets. The VP, Operations has full management and operational responsibility over managed facilities and /or facilities that do not exist in a developed market and do not have a Market General Manager This role serves as the GM of those facilities and will exercise management responsibility over the facilities, ensuring efficient services that are designed to meet the needs of patients, physicians, and staff. This will either be done directly, or through delegation of responsibility to the management staff. Qualifications: Possess a Bachelor's Degree or preferably Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration or related field. This person ideally has 10 years or more of progressively more responsible managerial experience, with at least five years of high-level administration in a healthcare organization, necessary in order to gain an in-depth understanding of the administrative aspects of the health care field and to be able to effectively direct the operations of the facility. Clinical experience and qualifications preferred. Skills: • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Effective in building relationships with constituencies and subordinates • Able to motivate others toward a strategic end • Computer and analytical skills • Demonstrated experience in planning operations and management of department budgets • Fluent English writer and speaker, and comfortable giving English-language presentations. • Fluent Chinese speaker, able to conduct high-level business meetings and give presentations in Mandarin Chinese. Must be able to read Chinese comfortably. Knowledge: • Clinical background and knowledge a benefit Responsibilities: • Accountable for the overall success of UFH operations across the group; oversees and is responsible for the daily operations and activities of the managed and free-standing facilities. • He/she will lead and oversee the development and implementation of facility operations and strategic plans. Attention is to be given to developing consistency throughout the group in regard to systems (policies and procedures), program development, quality, fiscal management, compliance and clinical management measures, physician relationships, work culture enhancement and internal communication and consensus-building. • Acts as an administrative resource to facility General Mangers to help resolve problems concerning items such as staffing, personnel issues, and the utilization of hospital facilities, equipment and supplies. • Accepts assignments and/or chairs committees on permanent or short-term basis as necessary to meet the ongoing needs of the organization. • Participates in major policy and decision-making discussions and makes recommendations regarding resource allocation and future direction and control of the facilities. • Prepares and presents periodic reports regarding professional services, quality assurance, or other relevant topics as needed by the organization. • Maintains appropriate relationships external to the hospital to facilitate the role of liaison with the public. • Develops and fosters effective collaboration between facilities, divisions, medical staff leadership, and other affiliated services (inside and outside of the hospital) to ensure an integrated approach to providing services, and fulfilling the hospital's goals and objectives.
