Spectrum Health - Butterworth Hospital is an acute care 1000+ bed general hospital with 24-hour anesthesia coverage on L & D, an antenatal high risk unit and a full service NICU. The hospital does 8,000 deliveries and the MFM group does 10,000 ultrasounds annually. Helen DeVos Children's Hospital is within the Butterworth Campus offering a full array of pediatric subspecialists. A new Helen DeVos Children's Hospital is being constructed, to be completed in 2010. Through its affiliation with Michigan State University you will have the opportunity to participate in outreach lectures and pursue clinical research in conjunction with OB residents. A new medical school is scheduled to open in Grand Rapids in the Fall 2008. Grand Rapids is Michigan's second largest city.
