Description:

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center's (CSMC) Hospital Epidemiology Program has an immediate opening for an RN Epidemiology Surveillance Specialist for the review and assessment of clinical and non-clinical records for preliminary screening for nosocomial infections as defined by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and in accord with principles of infection control. Review of inpatient and outpatient records for hospital wide infection surveillance program, maintenance of audit tools for the capture of data, aggregate and analyze data for further review by Nurse Epidemiologists/Hospital Epidemiologist. The RN will also perform infection control rounds as identified by Manager or Director, provide inservice education to nursing staff as request regarding infection control issues essential for quality patient care and participate in chart review and data collection for focused studies as defined by the Manager or Director.


Knowledge of office software (e.g. Microsoft Office), strong verbal and written communication skills and the physical ability and perceptive acuity, e.g. visual, hearing, to satisfactorily perform all direct and indirect job functions also required.
