Job Details: Clinician Scientist/Assistant Professor

 
Description: The University of British Columbia, Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases invites applications for a Clinician Scientist/Assistant Professor to begin January 1, 2009.
This tenure track position is subject to budgetary approval. As a clinician with or eligible for RCPSC certification in Infectious Diseases, the successful candidate will provide inpatient and outpatient services at Vancouver General Hospital along with teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical trainees. This will involve an approximate time commitment not to exceed 25%. As a full time faculty member, you will be required to participate on appropriate UBC committees. The remaining time will be committed to developing a basic research program focusing on the molecular pathogenesis of infection or host defense.

The successful applicant will have had a minimum of two years of postgraduate clinical experience and references demonstrating excellence in providing acute care to inpatients in a teaching hospital setting, as well as a demonstrated aptitude for teaching. A minimum of three years of relevant post-doctoral research
