Job Details: Medical Laboratory Technologist - Full Time

Company: Lady Dunn Health Centre – Lady Dunn Health Centre is a brand new, 28 bed facility.

Description: Start Date: August 1, 2008
Hours: 37.50 per week
Salary: As per ONA collective Agreement
Comments: $5000 taxable living allowance after 1 year of service

Duties:
Performing routine and specialized test procedures as outlined in the section procedure manuals; organizing work flow to maintain performance standards of quantity and quality; reporting problems with methods, reagents or equipment to his/her supervisor; performing and documenting daily quality control; maintaining the cleanliness of equipment and immediate work area; observing established safety and infection control procedures; other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Certification with the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Sciences, Current registration or be eligible for registration with the CMLTO, Current theoretical and technical knowledge in Biochemistry, hematology/blood transfusion. Must have in-depth knowledge of techniques, principles and instruments and the interrelationships. Must have working and technical knowledge of the electronic and/or mechanical equipment necessary to perform routine and specialized testing, Proven problem solving skills, with the ability to recognize problems, identify the cause, create alternative and determine solutions.
