These three communities are the gateways to hunting and fishing and outdoor sports. Nipawin (www.nipawin.com) is gaining a reputation as one of Saskatchewan's newest resort area hot-spots. This community of just over 5100 people has all the services and facilities of larger centers as well as small-town lakeside charm. It is situated on the river section of Tobin Lake, 2 km downstream from Codette Lake. This gives Nipawin a unique position of having both the comforts and services of a larger center with the outdoor experiences of Saskatchewan's near north. Nipawin's modern 33 bed hospital provides acute care in a growing multicultural community of 5,100 with a catchment area of 12,000.
