LABORATORY POSITIONS

Blood Donor Services Manager
Manages Scott & White Blood Center donor recruiting services. Manages and develops current marketing strategies to increase blood donor base. Markets SWBC mobile donor program. Markets SWBC donor program and makes community public education presentations. Coordinates with SW marketing/communications for media relations and publicity for the SWBC. Coordinates activities with Marrow Donor Program.

Medical Technologists (Transfusion Services & Hematology)
Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology or other health or life science. Certification by a national agency. ASCP or equivalent. Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and use of basic office equipment. Performs and monitors a variety of laboratory testing and analysis. Assumes responsibility for problem resolution, quality control and routine equipment maintenance with minimal supervision.

Grossing Assistant II - Anatomic Pathology
An Associate's degree (two-year program) or equivalent formal training program. One to two years. Assists in the gross description of specified simple and complex tissues removed at surgery, including selection and submission of specimens for histological, microbiological, immunological and other specialized testing. Full-time, 40 hrs/week.

Hematology Supervisor
Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or other health or life science. Certification by a national agency. Five to seven years. With minimal supervision, directs the activities of work performed by other Technologists, performs and monitors a variety of laboratory testing and analyses, assumes responsibility for problem resolution, and teaches quality control and maintenance.
