Job Details: AP/CP General Pathologist

 
Location: Salem, Oregon
Description: Pacific Pathology Associates, Inc. in Salem, Oregon is seeking an AP/CP Board Eligible/Board Certified Pathologist for a full-time partnership track position to begin December 1, 2008.
We are a private practice with 5 full-time and 3 part-time Pathologists, 2 full-time Pathologists' Assistants and 1 Business and Marketing Manager. We serve 5 hospitals and have a busy outreach practice. Our offices are located inside Salem Hospital, the only hospital in the city.

Our pathologists serve as Laboratory Medical Directors and occasionally travel to 4 hospitals within a 30-mile radius of Salem to perform frozen sections. Call duties are divided equally between 5 pathologists.

We are seeking a general surgical pathologist. Additional subspecialty training is desired. In additional to general surgical pathology, duties include frozen section reviews, non-gyn cytology, gyn cytology, hematopathology and performing andbone marrow biopsies and interpretation. Our annual volumes are 26,000 surgicals, 26,000 paps, 400 bone marrows, 15 autopsies, and 2,300 non-gyn cytologies.

The clinical pathology duties include Medical Directorship of a small hospital laboratory. Blood bank experience is desirable.

Offers will be contingent on the candidate obtaining an Oregon Medical License and full privileges at Salem Hospital.

It lies in the center of the lush Willamette River Valley, 47 miles from Portland. Salem is located an hour from the ocean beaches and Cascade Mountains and is surrounded by wineries, parks, theaters, shops and restaurants.
