$31.67 - $42.08 per hour as per the Collective Agreement Hours Of Work 6 X 7.75 hour shifts in a 2 week shift cycle (D - current shift rotation provided for information only) Duties: As part of the multi-disciplinary team in the Pediatric Programs and Clinics, the psychologist will complete cognitive and psycho-educational assessments of children with complex learning problems complicated further by medical issues. The psychologist, through their assessment, assists the team to develop an overall diagnostic picture of the child in order to give the school and the family guidance in intervention and to assist in the medical management of the child. Other responsibilities include consultation with schools, development of transition plans and provision of information about specialized community resources. Qualifications: Graduation from a recognized university program in Psychology at the Masters Level. Doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in Psychology from an accredited university program is desirable. Registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists as a Registered Psychologist is required. A minimum of five years experience is required, including recent experience consulting with students with special needs in a school setting. Classroom teaching experience is preferred. Experience in the assessment of children with complex developmental, school/learning, and behavioural disorders required. Knowledge of school based programs and services to assist children with cognitive difficulties. Ability to relate to children, parents, and community service providers in a collaborative and professional manner. Ability to work in a fast-paced outpatient setting and complete work within expected time frames. Demonstrated ability to function effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Experience in the field of pediatric brain injury is an asset. Successful Candidates who are not currently registered with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) must obtain registration (provisional, courtesy or full registration) prior to commencement in the position. Responsible to provide proof of active registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) and to maintain registration throughout the duration of employment.
