Position Information

The Director is responsible for the oversight of medical critical care services including two ICUs, progressive care, an adult critical care medical floor, as well as dialysis services, and a medical/surgical unit. Will have the assistance of five direct reports.

Reports to the Chief Nursing Officer.

Qualified candidates will be bachelor's prepared nurses, have previous management experience over multiple units, with a focus on patient and quality care. Master's preferred.

Candidates who have previous experience with the Magnet journey, who are results oriented, and have the ability to mentor a talented group will be most successful.

The facility is a 443-bed, not-for-profit, Joint Commission accredited, Magnet designated, acute-care teaching hospital that is affiliated with East Tennessee State University.

This medical center is a major medical referral center with Level I Trauma Care and the region's only dedicated emergency medical air transport service. Other services offered include pediatrics, surgery, cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, and transplantation.
