Description: Seeking Nurse Practitioner to join our expanding hospitalist program.

Our ideal candidate will be a nurse practitioner who demonstrates excellent customer service performance in that his/her attitude and actions are at all times consistent with the standards contained in the Mission, Vision and Values of Covenant and the commitment to Keeping our Promise of Caring. The nurse practitioner will function in a supervised or independent capacity with the Covenant Hospital Medicine Team. Supervision, where necessary, will be provided by an on duty physician.

Job Details:
- Assist Physician with hospital inpatient admission, consultations and discharges under direct supervision
- Assist other midlevel providers and physicians in the provision of general medical care to our patients
- Perform hospital H&P's, Discharge Summaries, and subsequent care
- Take medical histories, perform physical examinations, order and interpret laboratory tests, diagnose, treat illnesses and injuries, and review patient records
- Prescribe medication within the scope of licensure/practice
- Initiate and order appropriate diagnostic testing

Education/Licensure/Certification:
- Current Licensure to practice in the State of Michigan
- Graduate from an accredited institution.
- Certification as a nurse practitioner
- Continuing medical education as required by the certification body
- ACLS Certification or willing to obtain within 6 months of employment

Additional Requirements:
- Preferred: 2 years experience as a Nurse Practitioner
- Preferred: Inpatient practice
