Today, Odyssey is one of the largest hospice providers in the country, offering end-of-life care and support to thousands of patients and their families across the country each day.

Our team of caregivers consist of registered nurses, physicians, home healthcare aides, social workers, chaplains, bereavement counselors and trained volunteers. Patients typically receive our services in their own homes or in nursing homes or assisted living facilities. But we also serve patients in hospitals and, in Odyssey's own freestanding hospice facilities.

Inpatient Unit Manager
Responsible for the overall operations and clinical compliance at the Inpatient Unit. Establish, implement and evaluate goals and objectives for inpatient services that meet and promote Odyssey standards of quality and contribute to the total organization and philosophy. Hire, train, orient, supervise and evaluate qualified Hospice interdisciplinary team personnel. Provide daily direction to the team, including all scheduling, care planning, documentation, productivity and all other patient care operations. Provide ongoing communication with the Parent Office homecare staff and management team to insure continuity of patient care between homecare and the inpatient unit. Oversee and actively participate in communication with referral sources to educate on appropriate referrals and efficient transfer of patient to the unit. Manage all patient care expenditures at the Inpatient Unit including but not limited to labor, pharmacy, DME, medical supplies, dietary, unit maintenance, patient transportation, and patient care mileage. Assure regulatory compliance including achieving and maintaining Hospice Medicare certification, compliance with Life Safety Codes, Health Department and OSHA regulations. Respond to customer complaints regarding patient care and assure all complaints are handled in accordance with Company policies and procedures and/or legal compliance requirements. Manage related expenditures in a fiscally responsible manner in accordance with the Company's budget. Travel as necessary.

Odyssey's Ideal Candidate will have the following qualifications:
• Minimum age requirement of 18.

• Registered Nurse licensed in the state.

• Bachelor's degree and C.H.P.N. certification preferred.

• Minimum of two years clinical management experience, including the supervision of nursing staff preferred.

• Minimum of three years Hospice, home health or related organization experience preferred.

• Compliance with accepted professional standards and practices.

• Physical exam in accordance with state law requirements.

• Valid driver's license and an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or Odyssey requirements and is in good working order.

• Satisfactory references from employers and/or professional peers.

• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary setting.

• Satisfactory criminal background check.

• Demonstrate excellent observation and communication skills.

• Self-directed with the ability to work with little supervision.

• Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling all obligations.
