Description: Associate Director, Surgical Oncology - Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center - Chicago
The Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center and the Department of Surgery at Loyola University Chicago (LUC) Stritch School of Medicine is seeking a full-time surgeon as Associate Director, Surgical Oncology. The preferred candidate will join the Department of Surgery and will have subspecialty surgical training in breast surgery, surgical oncology, gynecologic oncology, head and neck oncology, thoracic oncology, GI oncology, or urologic oncology. Other surgical oncology specialties will be considered.

The Associate Director, Surgical Oncology will take a leadership role in advancing the Cancer Center's surgical oncology research efforts and facilitate collaboration among the Cancer Center's surgical oncologists, medical oncologists and other disciplines associated with the Cancer Center.

The Cancer Center has a robust research program and has participated in more than 200 clinical trials. The Associate Director, Clinical Oncology will take the lead in further advancing research initiatives by fostering clinical research and translational research initiatives related to surgical oncology disciplines and developing and managing interdepartmental relations necessary to support research activities.

The Associate Director, Surgical Oncology will maintain a clinical practice as part of a multi-disciplinary oncology team, including surgical and medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, breast radiologists, pathologists, and a genetic counselor in providing consultative and therapeutic care.

Candidates must be board-certified in general surgery, have subspecialty surgical oncology training and a minimum of seven years of clinical practice with a strong track record of funded research.
Academic standing will at the associate professor level. The Associate Director, Surgical Oncology will include a non-tenured track appointment to Loyola University.
