SFC - Oncology Clinic Responsibilities 1. Maintains clinical expertise and competency (to include age specific) as well as demonstrates thorough knowledge of procedures to deliver quality car in specialized situations. 2. Documents delivery of health care and nursing process in accordance with SETON's policies and procedures in a timely, accurate and consistent manner. Reports abnormal health data. 3. Communicates effectively and appropriately with patients, family members and other health care providers. Acts as a resource for facilitating communication when necessary. 4. Coordinates and supervises the delivery of patient care provided by selected members of the health care team. 5. Coordinates and supervises the assignments of routine tasks needed in order to keep the clinic operational to selected members of the clinic staff. 6. Facilitates coordination of services with the non-medical clinic staff to obtain optimum patient flow and increased patient satisfaction. 7. Acts as a resource within the clinic to other staff members in regards to patient care. 8. Participates in the committees that guide the department. 9. Assists in the development and/or delivery of orientation and/or education processes for patients and staff. 10. Coordinates and delegates the timely processing of patient referrals for the delivery of patient care. 11. Participates as a team member and promotes teamwork by assisting others with patient care and department activities. 12. Promotes cleanliness and a safe environment according to the Network EOC guidelines. 13. Utilizes the nursing process to facilitate appropriate nursing interventions during client triage. 14. Participates in the evaluation of products, procedures and patient care standards. 15. Identifies Performance Improvement opportunities. 16. Assumes responsibility/accountability for delegating, directing and supervising patient care activities. Assumes charge/team leader role. 17. Serves as a resource and positive proactive behavioral leader for the department. 18. Accepts responsibility for remaining current with nursing and health care trends and information that impacts nursing practice. 19. Participates in collaboration with the health care team in identifying, evaluating and prioritizing patient/family needs to develop a plan of care. 20. Participates in the evaluation of the effectiveness of interventions. 21. Utilizing advanced clinical practice expertise, guides others in executing procedures and interventions. 22. Assumes responsibility for clinical coordination of a multi-disciplinary team as a resource/mentor to others (health care team/community) in promoting continuity of care to patients and families. 23. Assists others in evaluating interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes. 24. Participates in studies, evaluations, etc. that may result in product standardization and cost savings/control. 25. Assists in the development of research-based patient care standards. 26. Develops and/or implements teaching activities in response to patient care standards, policies, new equipment, etc. to improve patient care and customer satisfaction. 27. Participates in research activities. 28. Develops criteria that address performance improvement issues. 29. Takes an active and supportive role in implementing change. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's of Nursing (BSN) is preferred. Two years of nursing practice is required, preferably in an office or clinic setting. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the state of Texas is required. Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association is required. Preferred Qualifications pediatric oncology experience preferred Skills Working knowledge of the State of Texas Nursing Practice act, specifically as it relates to delegation to unlicensed personnel is required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
