Swedish Medical Center, the largest nonprofit healthcare provider in the Greater Seattle area, has an exciting opportunity for a Home Health Physical Therapy Assistant. This is a regular, full-time hourly position (40 hours per week beginning 8:00am daily) that is eligible for full benefits. Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) delivers therapy services upon physician referral to maximize functional outcomes; actively participates in discharge planning; implements the treatment program; and communicates the patient responses. Services are delivered within the framework of a team approach including all disciplines, significant others and the patient. Qualified candidates must possess a degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program. Skills in interpreting the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements reflective to specific needs and provide the care needed, are key to your success. An ideal candidate will have demonstrated knowledge of growth and development over a lifespan, as well as the ability to deal with difficult situations as they occur, to cope with frequent interruptions and display tactfulness when dealing with physicians, parents or caregivers, patients' family, other employees, visitors and the community. Must demonstrate the ability to make decisions and have the willingness to work with the realization that errors may be of serious consequence. A proven record of accomplishment in operating all equipment in the pediatric rehabilitation services department, applying indications according to patient age, diagnosis and standard operating procedures, is necessary.
