Provides high quality, considerate direct patient care, using the nursing process. ED focus areas include but are not limited to: Assessment- Triage and Nursing assessment and reassessment Implementation- Patient treatment-medication administration, pain control, and comfort measures, patient safety, wound & skin care. Teaching- discharge instructions, wound care, crutch walking and splint care, medication use, pediatric fever control, care of the ill child, and follow up care Evaluation: reassessment of pain control measures and teaching methods, evaluation of patient outcomes and responses to care. Evaluation of performance as it relates to standards of practice and safe patient care practices which include timely assessment and treatment of patients. Maintains standards for professional practice. Assumes responsibility for maintaining license and required education and certifications Collaborates with other Health Care Professionals. Practices within CHS ER+ Service Excellence Standards. Performs other related duties as assigned. The staff RN is a professional caregiver who is responsible for designated patients for a specified time frame. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process, the environment and other health care resources to meet the specialized age-appropriate physical, emotional and spiritual needs of all ages of patient populations assigned. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current state Registered Nurse license; or eligible for immediate state license. Able to meet physical and sensory requirements of job. Able to successfully complete orientation of job performance. Able to meet health standards for hospital employment. Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) Certification. Maintain Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification Maintain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification. Current CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) National Certification preferred.
