Located within the Fort Simpson Health Centre and reporting directly to the Nurse Administrator the incumbent will deliver community health services to client populations of approximately 1,257 residents in Fort Simpson, Nahanni Butte, Wrigley, Trout Lake and Jean Marie River. The Health Centre is the sole medical and social services facility in Fort Simpson. Services within the satellite communities are provided through the local nursing stations.

The incumbent will provide community health services in accordance with established standards of nursing practice and the philosophy and objectives of the Dehcho Health and Social Services Authority to ensure the provision of safe standardized health care to the residents of the communities.
Typically these knowledge, skills and abilities are commonly acquired through the successful completion of a Nursing Degree and two years recent nursing experience in an acute care setting or within a northern health centre. Within the DHSSA nurses must be registered with the RNANT/NU. Equivalent combinations of education and/or experience will be considered.

The salary starts at $42.07 per hour (approximately $82,037/annum), plus a Northern Allowance of $8,763.
A job offer is contingent upon a satisfactory criminal record check. The successful candidate will be required to obtain a medical clearance.
