The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and the Christus Santa Rosa Children"s Hospital together seek two Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeons to join their well-established pediatric orthopedics department. In this position, you will join a group of three pediatric orthopedic surgeons for a shared call schedule of one in three or better. Along with surgical responsibilities the position will include teaching of residents and medical students and provides clinical or bench research opportunities. Christus Santa Rosa Children"s Hospital is a free-standing hospital with programs in transplantation, cardiac surgery and complex spine surgery, including expansion thoracoplasty using the vertical expandable prosthetic titanium rib (VEPTR). Facilities include a new surgical tower built two years ago and newly constructed outpatient facilities. The current pediatric orthopedic group is very busy. Referrals from throughout South Texas and a national and international referral base for VEPTR and these patients include a broad spectrum of pediatric disorders. An academic appointment in the Department of Orthopaedics at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio would be provided as well as an attractive salary with bonus incentive and benefits.
