In Spring 2009 CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital-Westover
Hills will combine the latest healthcare technology
with traditional dedication to patient care. Our "all-digital"
hospital will feature the most advanced equipment in
the healthcare field.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting
to the Regional VP/Chief Administrative Officer, you'll
oversee CSR's risk management program, including guiding
Administration and the Board of Directors in ways to
protect corporate assets, ensure safety, and identify/minimize
potential losses. Specific duties include developing
and implementing loss control and risk management programs
for all areas, ensuring consistency of risk reduction
strategies with quality and patient safety initiatives,
evaluating potential loss exposures and recommending
corrective actions, and managing system variance/occurrence
reporting to analyze trends and produce forecasts.
You will also promote a non-punitive culture of safety;
ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state and local
regulations; and coordinate integration into risk management
techniques and programs.
QUALIFICATIONS
The
top candidate will bring a BSN plus a Master's in Nursing,
Healthcare Administration or Business Administration
(juris doctorate, CPHRM or ARM certification is preferred);
5+ years' progressively responsible experience in healthcare
risk management, patient safety or clinical quality
management, with proven successful outcomes regarding
loss control and claims management strategies; and
5+ years' acute care clinical experience in a hospital
setting, with knowledge of regulatory/reporting requirements
for clinical risk exposure and claims issues. Familiarity
with general, property and auto liability exposures,
as well as health regulatory agency standards and regulations,
is required. You will also have superior multitasking
skills; ability to present educational programs; proficiency
with database management and systems development; and
knowledge of JCAHO, state/federal risk management regulations
and QC/QA issues.
