Description: The Bermuda Hospitals Board requires Staff Anaesthestists will be part of a team delivering service to inpatient, day case theatres, and Intensive Care Unit at the Kind Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Executes in conjunction with departmental staff and administration, the scope of services required to meet the needs of clients and the hospitals.
• In the operating room, matches the anesthetic needs of the patient to their medical condition, individual response to anesthesia, and the anesthetic requirements of the surgery.
• In the ICU, the anesthesiologist is responsible for providing medical assessments and diagnosis, respiratory and cardiovascular support, and infection control.
• The anesthesiologist is also responsible for continually monitoring and assessing the patient after surgery and determining when the patient has completely recovered from anesthesia.
• Targets benchmark data to establish and monitor quality improvement activities.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
• Board Certified (General Medical Council Registration) as an Anaesthetist
• Current Specialist qualification as an Anaesthetist

EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum of 2 years experience as an Anaesthetist in a Hospital-based Anaesthesia Service

PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATION:
• Current registration with Medical Council in relevant jurisdiction
• Eligible to register with Bermuda Medical Council
