Description: The Bermuda Hospitals Board requires a dynamic individual with relevant experience to provide leadership and direction for the care of adults and children with psychiatric illnesses, learning disabilities and substance abuse problems. Additionally the successful candidate will assist in the development of further programmes at Mid Atlantic Wellness Institute, to include: • Developing appropriate psychiatric, educational and research programmes, in keeping with the guidelines issued by the Royal College of Psychiatry for psychiatric trainees. • Providing leadership and direction for the care of psychiatrically-ill learning-disabled patients. • To assess, revise and establish standard of care, including clinical practice guidelines in Psychiatry. • Initiating and maintaining appropriate liaison with community agencies and groups in order to create alternative avenues of patient care and treatment in the community. • Allocating duties and responsibilities to other Consultants and Residents working at Mid Atlantic Wellness Institute and liaising with medical staff at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS • MRCPsych, CSST certified (U.K.), FRCPsych (Can) or American Board Certification EXPERIENCE REQUIRED • A minimum of three (3) years post qualification experience as a Consultant Psychiatrist An initial 3 year employment contract will be offered with an option to renew, total compensation package two hundred and fifty thousand dollars per annum. Benefits include full malpractice cover, relocation and housing allowance, shipping costs up to 360 kg., 50% of base medical coverage, 30 days paid vacation leave per annum, and ten days study leave per annum.
