CONNECTICUT CHILDREN'S MEDICAL CENTER

HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT
The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Cardiology, at Connecticut Children's Medical Center is actively looking to add two board certified/board eligible pediatric cardiologists to their growing practice.

One position exists for a pediatric interventional cardiologist who will have a future opportunity to assume the role of Director of Interventional Cardiology. A second position is available for a general pediatric cardiologist. The ideal candidate will have an interest in one of the following: exercise physiology, preventative cardiology, or adult congenital heart disease.

Connecticut Children's Medical Center is the teaching hospital for the University Of Connecticut School of Medicine. Members of the division provide all of the teaching for medical students, pediatric residents, and adult cardiology fellows.

Currently, the division sees over 7500 outpatients per year. There is a full-time, dedicated pediatric cardiovascular surgery program performing the entire range of pediatric cardiac surgery. There is a new state-of-the-art pediatric cardiac catheterization laboratory with complete electrophysiology capabilities. The division includes dedicated pediatric electrophysiology, dedicated pediatric MRI program, adult with congenital heart disease program, preventative cardiology program, fetal cardiology as well as transthoracic and transesophageal imaging. The Pediatric ICU has a dedicated group of pediatric intensivists that provide 24/7 pediatric ICU attending coverage for all patients. Approximately 150 cardiac catheterizations are performed annually with the vast majority of the cases being interventional. Each member of the Division of Cardiology has their specific area of interest, as well as involvement in general pediatric cardiology. The division has its main office at Connecticut Children's Medical Center and supports many outreach offices throughout Connecticut. Members share in the call schedule which is currently 1/7 days. There are many opportunities for clinical research and laboratory-based research in collaboration with the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.
