BC Children's Hospital (BCCH) cares for the province's most acutely ill or injured children and youth, provides developmental and rehabilitation services to children and youth throughout BC, and offers a broad range of health services. Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children (SHHC), a leading provincial facility offering specialized services to children and youth with developmental disabilities from birth to age 17, works collaboratively with BCCH. SHHC focuses on the child and their family while supporting health care professionals in their community. BCCH also operates a wide number of specialized health programs, is a leading acute care teaching facility, and conducts research to advance health and care through the Child and Family Research Institute and in partnership with the University of British Columbia. Ultrasonographer Regular Full time BC Children's Hospital Vancouver, BC This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Ultrasonographer to report to the Supervisor (reporting to a supervisor doesn't really seem like something that should be featured) and handle ultrasound technical duties including preparing and explaining procedures to patients, performing diagnostic scans, and gathering and reviewing clinical history and results from diagnostic tests. You will also be responsible for checking and reviewing examinations with Radiologists, assisting with related procedures, and dealing with equipment relevant to this role. Participation in the student program and the department in-service program will be expected. You have successfully completed a recognized course in diagnostic ultrasound and have current registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists and the British Columbia Ultrasound Society. One year's recent related experience in ultrasound is preferred together with current CPR certification. Your ability to work effectively with others is supported by strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly as they relate to working with pediatric populations. Strong organizational and technical abilities will round out your qualifications.
