Logansport State Hospital has served persons with mental illness since 1887. In 1993, an impressive, new, 409-bed facility was opened that is composed of five service lines-Admission Stabilization & Intermediate Care, Forensic Services, Intermediate Care for the Mentally Retarded, Geriatric Services, and Continuous Psychiatric Services. This beautiful, state-of-the-art facility will far surpass your typical stereotype of a State psychiatric hospital!!

Dr. Danny Meadows, Medical Director, seeks general psychiatrists to care for patients in its Dodd Treatment Center or Larson Continuous Psychiatric Services. The rich variety of case-mix at Logansport State Hospital offers the academically-minded physician an extraordinarily unique psychiatry experience. If you are interested in an environment that has a consistently successful track record in treating the most severe dual-diagnosed patients, Logansport State Hospital is the place for you.

The Dodd Treatment Center is a 96-bed facility dedicated to admission stabilization and intermediate care services with an average length-of-stay of 4-25 months. Larson (LTC) Continuous Psychiatric Services is an 86-bed facility which houses the specialty programs of sexual responsibility, fluid management, and continued psychiatric treatment. This unit also treats individuals that have behavioral issues. The length of stay averages 6-7 years.

A full-time schedule of just 37.5 hours per week is conducive to providing quality patient care. Competitive salary plus additional compensation for call, though call responsibilities not required.

Staff physicians live in Logansport itself, Indianapolis, Lafayette, and other surrounding areas.

Located just 1.5 hours from Indianapolis and 2.5 hours from Chicago, Logansport, IN is nestled in a valley surrounded by picturesque farms with acres of rich farmland.
