Hospitalist
A board certified/eligible
Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician is needed
to join the Hospitalist Service at Franciscan Skemp
Healthcare-Mayo Health System in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
Franciscan
Skemp Healthcare is a multispecialty group/healthcare
network, part of Mayo Health System, with more than
200 physicians/associate providers, serving a primary
care population base of 240,000. The hospitalist group
provides 24-hour Hospital Medicine coverage, including
admissions, inpatient consultations, developing plans
for a patient's medical care and discharging patients.
Our hospitalists work 12-hour shifts, seven consecutive
days or nights, one week on/one week off. Critical
Care/ICU experience is necessary since the Hospitalist
Service is involved in covering our 16-bed combined
medical/surgical ICU-CCU, especially during the evening
shift. Critical Care/ Pulmonary Medicine physicians
are the primary providers covering the Unit during
the day. The Hospitalist Service takes care of patients
from all areas of primary care, excluding pediatrics.
Patients may also be referred by independent physicians
within 60 miles of La Crosse.
The Medical Center
in La Crosse has 250 beds. Our Emergency Medical &
Trauma Center (Level III) is staffed 24 hours by Emergency
Medicine physicians. Full diagnostic radiology and
laboratory services are available on site as well as
a full range of special care units and high-tech services,
including cardiac catheterization lab. The clinic facility
is connected to the hospital. A Center for Advanced
Medicine & Surgery (CAMS) houses state-of-the-art
OR suites, Day Surgery Unit and a comprehensive Cancer
Center, including chemotherapy and radiation oncology.
In addition to its main clinic and hospital in La Crosse,
Franciscan Skemp has two other small community hospitals
in WI and eleven other clinics located in WI, MN and
IA within a 60-mile radius of La Crosse.
