Board certified/eligible
general adult psychiatrist is needed to join the Psychiatry
Department/Behavioral Health Services at Franciscan
Skemp Healthcare-Mayo Health System in La Crosse, WI.
The psychiatrists have a combined in-patient and out-patient
practice and work with an extensive team of Franciscan
Skemp Healthcare (FSH) clinical psychologists, nurse
clinicians, Masters prepared clinical therapists, social
workers, RN's and a chemical dependency staff. The
Psychiatry practice is based in La Crosse with the
potential for outreach services to other sites in the
FSH service area. General Psychiatry call for Franciscan
Skemp Medical Center will be shared with four other
general adult psychiatrists.
The regionally
based FSH Behavioral Health Services focus on acute
and community mental health services. This network
also includes a well-established chemical dependency
treatment program. The in-patient treatment unit, with
an average daily census of 18, is located at Franciscan
Skemp Medical Center in La Crosse. The Psychiatry/Behavioral
Health Services out-patient office is located a few
blocks north of the main medical facility at 212 S.
11th Street. Out-patient Behavioral Health Services
are integrated into each of the FSH regional primary
care clinics. The department is in the process of developing
a mental health recovery model.
Franciscan Skemp
Healthcare, a multispecialty group/healthcare network,
part of the Mayo Health System, has more than 200 physicians/associate
providers on staff, serving a primary care population
base of 240,000. Referrals to Psychiatry come from
providers within the FSH system, which includes 12
locations in west-central Wisconsin, southeast Minnesota
and northeast Iowa. Patients are also referred from
non-affiliated providers within a 60-mile radius of
La Crosse. The main clinic facility and hospital (250
beds) on the La Crosse Campus are connected. The Emergency
Medical & Trauma Center is staffed 24 hours by
ER physicians. Sophisticated diagnostic laboratory
and radiology services are available on site.
