Humana Veterans Healthcare is recruiting for
positioins at the VA in Huntington, WV. We need Primary
Care Physicians!
Requirements: American Citizenship
or Permanent Resident Status, Successful Completion
of an accredited Internal Medicine or Family Training
Program, Unrestricted license to practice medicine
in one of the 50 United States or one of the US territories.
Duties:
Primary Care Physicians provide comprehensive care
for a panel of outpatients. This care includes adhering
to specific performance measures and standards established
within the VA to ensure both timely and high quality
care for the assigned patients. Included in this responsibility,
are assignments to cover the Acute Teaching Service.
This responsibility, which occurs in four two week
rotations spread out during the year, entails the guidance,
mentoring, and supervision of an Acute Care Medical
Ward Team ( one senior resident, two interns, and students).
The size of the team is capped at maximum 18 patients.
During this time, no outpatient clinic responsibilities
exist for the physician. This activity does not include
providing care to intensive care patients, who receive
their care from a separate Intensivist Team. Further
responsibilities include participation in Medical Staff
Committee assignments and in performance improvement
activities.
The successful candidate will receive
a faculty appt with the Joan C Edwards School of Medicine
commensurate with their credentials and experience.
