The Rochester General Hospital Emergency Department (RGH) consists of Adult (annual census 64,000) and Pediatric (census 20,000) Emergency Departments, each with separate physician, mid-level provider, and nursing staffs. The Adult ED is operated daily as two contiguous departments of like staffing and capability, one operating for 24 hours, the second for 16 hours, in an innovative and efficient patient flow design. Fast-Track sections operate in both Adult and Pediatric Emergency Departments. Emergency Medicine practice is efficient at Rochester General Hospital.
