Responsibilities
1. Processes all applicable specimens in the laboratory.
2. Performs tests following established department policies and procedures exercising independent judgment when necessary.
3. Reports tests results in writing or by computer conforming to established policies and procedures.
4. Operates monitors, and maintains laboratory equipment according to established policies and procedures.
5. Performs and documents defined quality control procedures required for tests assayed.
6. Follows established procedures for the environment of care and laboratory safety.
7. Makes judicious use of time, supplies, equipment and resources. Utilizes time management skills to complete work. Recognizes own limitations and seeks assistance as needed. Utilizes appropriate chain of command. Utilizes courtesy and sensitivity, demonstrates effective and respectful communication. Cooperates in staffing and scheduling requirements to meet the needs of the department/Network. Participates as a team member by assisting others with patient care needs, department activities, etc. Supports a culture of patient and staff safety.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Must have completed a medical technology program in an ASCP accredited school or Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (single discipline or general) by ASCP or equivalent. Must pass the registry within one (1) year of hire date.
