Description:
CURE International seeks to fill the position
of Medical Director / OB GYN for its hospital in Kabul,
Afghanistan. Established in 2005, CURE Kabul is a 115
bed facility with an emphasis on family health, maternal
and child health and general surgery.
The Medical
Director will be responsible for providing medical
oversight of the hospital including recruiting and
training of medical personnel, monitoring all aspects
of quality control relating to medical care, developing
and executing educational and training programs for
national physicians, and developing and maintaining
relationships with government agencies, non-government
organizations and the local medical community. The
Medical Director will also function as an OB/GYN and
participate in clinical activities according to their
scope of privileges, providing and directing patient
care for both inpatient and outpatient, private pay
and no charge patients as required.
The qualified
candidate will possess a medical degree from a qualified,
recognized medical institution and a current license.
A minimum of 3 years of OB/GYN experience and a minimum
of 1 year experience managing a medical department
or team required. Prior experience in designing and
implementing medical training programs and teaching
preferred. A genuine interest in the mission and vision
of CURE International, and a commitment to the organization's
Statement of Faith, is required. Prior international
or missions experience preferred.
The anticipated
start date for this position is the spring/summer of
2008. A mission salary and benefits package including
