St. Joseph's is home to: - The internationally renowed Barrow Neurological Institute - St. Joseph's Children's Health Center, which is the second largest provider of comprehensive pediatric services in the state - The Heart & Lung Institute at St. Joseph's - St. Joseph's Trauma Center, which is the only Level 1 trauma center in Arizona that's verified by the American College of Surgeons St. Joseph's continues to expand and enhance its services to meet the growing needs of the community by providing comprehensive neurological, neurosurgical, pediatric, perinatal, cardiac, thoracic, and cancer care. The hospital's nine critical care units serve more than 60,000 patients each year. In 2006, St. Joseph's opened a 144-bed tower, making it the largest hospital in Arizona with 690 beds. Founded in 1895 by the Sisters of Mercy, St. Joseph's continues to help the underserved through clinics, community grants and outreach programs. The hospital is part of Catholic Healthcare West, which has more than 40 hospitals in Arizona, California and Nevada. POSITION REQUIREMENTS The CTOR Department at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center plays a critical role within the Cardiac Service Line of Excellence supporting it's Heart & Lung Institute, the only stand-alone lung transplant center in the Nation. The CTOR currently has seven surgical suites conducting 200 congenital heart cases, 350 thoracic and 175 adult heart cases. The current staffing ratio for these cases includes two RN circulators, a cardiothoracic scrub technician, and Physician's Assistant. Additional staff includes a clinical monitoring technical and staff perfusion. The hours of operation for the department are from 6:30 am to 7pm. Available shifts vary depending on the need of the unit; participation in a call rotation covering evening and night hours as well as weekends shifts. REQUIREMENTS: The successful RN candidate must be able to circulate complex pediatric/congenital and adult cardiovascular and thoracic cases having knowledge in all phases of the surgical process with two years of RN experience preferred. - AZ RN license or RN License from a Compact State.
