St. Joseph's is home to: - The internationally renowed Barrow Neurological Institute - St. Joseph's Children's Health Center, which is the second largest provider of comprehensive pediatric services in the state - The Heart & Lung Institute at St. Joseph's - St. Joseph's Trauma Center, which is the only Level 1 trauma center in Arizona that's verified by the American College of Surgeons St. Joseph's continues to expand and enhance its services to meet the growing needs of the community by providing comprehensive neurological, neurosurgical, pediatric, perinatal, cardiac, thoracic, and cancer care. The hospital's nine critical care units serve more than 60,000 patients each year. In 2006, St. Joseph's opened a 144-bed tower, making it the largest hospital in Arizona with 690 beds. Founded in 1895 by the Sisters of Mercy, St. Joseph's continues to help the underserved through clinics, community grants and outreach programs. The hospital is part of Catholic Healthcare West, which has more than 40 hospitals in Arizona, California and Nevada. POSITION REQUIREMENTS The 79-Bed Pediatric (Peds) Unit at St. Joseph's Hospital provides family-centered care for a diverse patient population. From infants to adolescents, our range of treatment includes general medical, surgery, epilepsy monitoring unit (EMU), neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, craniofacial reconstruction, trauma, hematology and oncology. We practice primary care utilizing a team of registered nurses, patient care technicians and certified nursing assistants. With support from child life specialists and pediatric pharmacists, we maintain a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio. Many of the rooms are private and several have been renovated. Join us now as we are seeking Registered Nurses (RN) for both our day and night shifts to coordinate, supervise and implement patient care based on competence, professional expertise, knowledge and evidence-based practice. The Registered Nurse is expected to practice autonomously, consistent with professional standards, Nurse Practice Act and hospital job description. REQUIREMENTS: - AZ RN license or RN License from a Compact State.
