St. Joseph's is home to: - The internationally renowed Barrow Neurological Institute - St. Joseph's Children's Health Center, which is the second largest provider of comprehensive pediatric services in the state - The Heart & Lung Institute at St. Joseph's - St. Joseph's Trauma Center, which is the only Level 1 trauma center in Arizona that's verified by the American College of Surgeons St. Joseph's continues to expand and enhance its services to meet the growing needs of the community by providing comprehensive neurological, neurosurgical, pediatric, perinatal, cardiac, thoracic, and cancer care. The hospital's nine critical care units serve more than 60,000 patients each year. In 2006, St. Joseph's opened a 144-bed tower, making it the largest hospital in Arizona with 690 beds. Founded in 1895 by the Sisters of Mercy, St. Joseph's continues to help the underserved through clinics, community grants and outreach programs. The hospital is part of Catholic Healthcare West, which has more than 40 hospitals in Arizona, California and Nevada. POSITION REQUIREMENTS The Surgical and Trauma Intensive Care Units at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center are committed to the highest level of patient satisfaction. Serving the critical care adult population, each "dedicated" unit consists of 8-beds and offers an exciting, challenging opportunity for nurses to care for the very highest acuity patients in a 1:2 or 1:1 nurse to patient ratio. All units report to one Nurse Manager; nurses are hired specifically for each unit yet have an opportunity to cross train. Minimum Requirements: AZ RN license or RN License from a Compact State.
