Description: Seeking a full-time, hospital-based infectious disease specialist to serve in a clinical, academic and administrative role in Phoenix, Arizona.

Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center, a tertiary care teaching and referral center in Phoenix, affiliated with the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center is seeking a full-time, hospital-based infectious disease specialist to serve in a clinical, academic and administrative role.

This position will participate in a multidisciplinary team of physicians, pharmacists, nurses and a clinical microbiologist to develop and implement policies to ensure optimal antimicrobial use at BGSMC designed to be cost-effective, produce excellent clinical outcomes, enhance patient safety, and minimize resistant organisms within the institution. This unique opportunity also includes consultative ID practice for a diverse patient population including transplant recipients, a large critical care population and post-operative cardiac, neurologic and general surgical patients.

The ideal candidate will possess:
1. Excellent clinical skills in internal medicine and infectious diseases.
2. Critical thinking skills and knowledge of epidemiology and biostatistics.
3. Excellent interpersonal relationship skills and ability to work collaboratively with other clinicians and administration.
4. M.D. or D.O. degree with advanced training and Board Certification in Infectious Diseases.
5. Minimum of three years of practice/teaching in an academic environment.
6. Advance degree(s) in epidemiology, microbiology, public health, biostatistics or other relevant discipline is desirable.
