Position offers call of 1:4 (city call of 1:5), covering one hospital. Hospital has Level III trauma designation, so no trauma call is required. Hospital has six well equipped operating rooms and boasts infection rates that are very low compared to the national average. Interest and experience engaging in pediatric cases is a plus, but not required. Experienced and newly trained candidates will be considered, as well as candidates with allopathic or osteopathic training. Experience for yourself why Missoula has been dubbed 'The Garden City.' This thriving community of nearly 90,000, nestled in the Rocky Mountains of Western Montana between Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks, is known for its mild winters relative to the rest of Montana. Located in an old, glacial lakebed, Missoula is surrounded by mountains, national forests, rivers, lakes and a handful of wilderness areas. It is the region's major medical and retail center and, as home of the University of Montana, offers a cultural diversity unique to a city of its size. Depending on the season, you can go hiking, skiing, fishing, hunting, ride mountain bikes or golf on award-winning golf courses. If you enjoy the outdoors and are seeking a practice opportunity that also offers a tremendous balance of lifestyle, then Missoula is the place for you.
