Logansport State Hospital has served persons with mental illness since 1887. In 1993, an impressive, new, 409-bed facility was opened that is composed of five service lines-Admission Stabilization & Intermediate Care, Forensic Services, Intermediate Care for the Mentally Retarded, Geriatric Services, and Continuous Psychiatric Services. This beautiful, state-of-the-art facility will far surpass your typical stereotype of a State psychiatric hospital!!

A psychiatrist with forensic certification or experience interacting with forensic patients in a corrections facility is needed to join Dr. Danny Meadows, Medical Director and Forensic Psychiatrist, due to the opening of the brand new 5th unit of the Isaac Ray Treatment Center. This brings the service line to a total of 105 beds. The Isaac Ray Treatment Center serves individuals who are incompetent to stand trial, individuals who have served their sentences with the Department of Correction (DOC) and continue to need mental health services, individuals found not guilty by reason of insanity and those mentally ill individuals with severely dangerous behaviors. The psychiatrists' success rate in restoring competency in 90 days to patients on this unit continues to increase!!!

A full-time schedule of just 37.5 hours per week is conducive to providing quality patient care. Competitive salary plus additional compensation for call, though call responsibilities not required.

Staff physicians live in Logansport itself, Indianapolis, Lafayette, and other surrounding areas.

Located just 1.5 hours from Indianapolis and 2.5 hours from Chicago, Logansport, IN is nestled in a valley surrounded by picturesque farms with acres of rich farmland.
