Description: OUTPATIENT SPORTS MEDICINE OPPORTUNITY

FARMINGTON- CONNECTICUT

Elite Sports Medicine, the sports medicine division of Connecticut Children's Medical Center and the University of Connecticut, seeks a third board certified/board eligible physician. Interested candidates should be residency trained Internal Medicine, Internal Medicine/Pediatrics/ Pediatrics, or Family Medicine and possess additional fellowship training in sports medicine.

In this position, you will join a thriving practice in a new, 25,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility in Farmington, Connecticut. This facility offers comprehensive care for the student athlete ranging in age from 10 to 30 years, although physicians in the practice are not limited to treating this patient demographic. Elite Sports Medicine offers an on-site motion analysis laboratory, physical therapy services, a concussion program, sport performance enhance program, and an active sports injury prevention program to their patients. The facility is staffed with three physical therapists, two athletic trainers, a sports psychologist, sports nutritionist, and a prosthetics/orthotics specialist. Physicians in the practice have no call responsibilities but will be encourage to attend weekend and evening sporting events.

In addition to patient care, the newly hired physician will be actively involved in research as well as teaching activities with residents and medical students from the University of Connecticut and Connecticut Children's Medical Center.

Elite Sports Medicine (ESM) is the sports medicine division of Connecticut Children's Medical Center established in 2006 as a multi-disciplinary facility to serve the needs of the adolescent and young adult athletes. Connecticut Children's Medical Center is a 135-bed, free standing children's hospital with an 18-bed PICU and a 32-bed NICU. CCMC maintains a Division of Research, a research center and serves as a satellite for the General Clinical Research Center for the University of Connecticut School of Medicine residency program in pediatrics and pediatric surgical specialties. The Connecticut Children's Faculty Practice Plan is a 100+ plus physician group.
