= Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) is a 232-bed state-of-the art Magnet designated children's hospital located in the city of Orange and has earned a strong reputation for leadership in pediatric health care across the Southern California region. CHOC is the dominant pediatric provider in this robust and growing region. We are ranked as the 15th busiest and the 11th largest children's hospitals in the U.S. Located on the 6th floor, the unit houses 30 private rooms - 12 in CVICU and 18 in PICU. The unit was created with the family foremost, and encourages interaction between parents and caregivers in a peaceful, healing environment. Innovative in its design, the unit features private patient rooms with sofa/sleep beds and separation curtains for parents, satellite nursing stations throughout the unit with bedside charting, and advanced equipment that gives caregivers 360 degree access to patients. The unit also features a satellite pharmacy so medications can be more quickly dispensed, and an onsite blood-gas lab for respiratory therapy. Rooms for on-call physicians are also located on the unit. The Cardiovascular Nurse Manager will manage a 12-bed CVICU, with accountability for the delivery of quality care, patient safety and satisfaction, and staff performance and education, while maintaining an orientation to fiscal management and sound business decisions. This manager will have a dedicated pediatric cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU) staffed by pediatric cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, pediatric intensivists, cardiac clinical nurse practitioners, pediatric ICU nurses, respiratory therapists, dieticians and case managers all with specialized cardiac training and experience to ensure optimal outcomes for each patient. Through the CHOC Heart Institute, more than 250 cardiac procedures are performed annually and CHOC is the only facility in Orange County to perform pediatric open-heart surgery and therapeutic catheterization procedures. Ideal candidate will have Bachelors Degree, CA License, Minimum 3 years supervisory or management experience and Minimum 3-5 years CVICU or PICU experience in a Pediatric Acute care setting.
