Job Details: Pediatric Anatomic Pathologist

Company: Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) – Province-wide solutions. Better health.

Description: Pediatric Anatomic Pathologist
Regular Full-time
PHSA Laboratories, BC Children's Hospital & BC Women's Hospital & Health Centre
The Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) plans, manages and evaluates selected specialty and province-wide health care services across BC, working with the five geographic health authorities to deliver province-wide solutions that improve the health of British Columbians. PHSA embodies values that reflect a commitment to excellence. These include: Patients first • Best value • Results matter • Improvements through knowledge • Open to possibilities.

The Children's & Women's Health Centre of British Columbia (C&W), an agency of the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA), is a world-renowned health-care facility, strategically affiliated with the University of British Columbia (UBC). It encompasses four of Canada's top teaching and research health facilities - British Columbia's Children's Hospital, British Columbia's Women's Hospital and Health Centre, Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children, and the Child and Family Health Research Institute. C&W is a tertiary care referral hospital which serves a local population of two million people, and a provincial population of four million.

The Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at C&W is recognized as a major centre for pediatric, fetal, and obstetric pathology. We are seeking a Pediatric Anatomic Pathologist with experience in all areas of pediatric pathology, including surgical, autopsy, and placental pathology, to participate in the diagnostic service and academic activities of the Department. In addition to clinical service work, professional staff members are expected to acquire or possess special expertise in special areas of pathology practice. In this case, experience in cardiovascular pathology is an asset, as is experience in coordinating professional QA processes.

Candidates must be eligible for temporary or permanent licensure in British Columbia and certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadians and permanent residents will be given priority. Remuneration is competitive and the benefits package is comprehensive, including relocation assistance. C&W salary and rank will be commensurate with experience.
