Everyone wants to be the best. But what does being the best mean to you? Perhaps it means being part of an award-winning health care team. Or maybe it's going home at the end of the work day knowing you have made a difference. At Spectrum Health, we offer you both. Spectrum Health is committed to being the health plan and provider of choice in Michigan while moving rapidly toward what we call 'Destination Health' - becoming America's highest quality and most successful health care enterprise by 2010. Are you seeking a flexible schedule? The opportunity to work with mid-level providers? Spectrum Health's system of 5 urgent care centers seeks physicians with certification in Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine or Urgent Care. Full-time is 72 hours per pay period. Competitive compensation including a pay differential for weekends and 37 days PTO. Through its affiliation with Michigan State University you will have the opportunity to participate in teaching. A new medical school is scheduled to open in Grand Rapids in the Fall 2008. Grand Rapids is Michigan's second largest city. With more than one million residents in the metro area, it offers all the big-city amenities and excitement you can imagine. Yet it's also a region of abundant natural wonders, where outdoor recreation is a year-round pursuit. And your family will find small-town friendliness, safety, top-rated public and private schools, and affordable family-oriented neighborhoods. Downtown is clean, safe and walkable. There are more than 75 hotels, restaurants, museums, and sports and entertainment venues within a five-minute walk of each other. Some of Grand Rapids' other unique attractions are less than a ten-minute drive away: Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park (one of the Midwest's most popular tourist spots); John Ball Zoo (one of the nation's oldest urban zoos); and Woodland Mall and Rivertown Crossings (two of Michigan's largest indoor malls).
